Director of Assets & Technical Consultancy Services

Are you a subject matter expert in Property Asset Management, Construction & Building Safety, Sustainability &/or Carbon Reduction and Energy Efficiency?  Do you have experience taking responsibility in a strategic leadership role?  If so, then let Informed Recruitment help you achieve your potential with an exciting opportunity as a Director of Technical Consultancy for a Business Consultancy that provide Asset Management & Development Consultancy to social housing customers.  As a specialist provider of resource to the Housing, Property & Associated Technology markets, we are delighted to partner with a consultancy providing a wide range of consultancy services to clients in the housing sector.

The main purpose of the role is twofold, to provide more concerted and specialist leadership to customers around asset management, building safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability; whilst also commercially expanding this specialist area of the business.  Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing knowledge and technical support to customers around strategic property asset subjects such as investment programmes, stock condition surveys, programme and project management, compliance, building safety, sustainability, new homes development, decarbonisation, asset grading, benchmarking, or similar; promoting beneficial internal products and services; helping to develop new services, products, and solutions to benefits customers; continuing to build you network by engaging with peers and attending industry events; building a team on permanent consultants and consultancy associates to deliver services; monitor legislation and market trends; complete proposals and contribute to tenders; deliver projects to agreed timescales and clients brief; and associated documentation.

Must Have

  • Previous experience in a strategic delivery capacity within Property Asset Management; Construction, Technical Services & Building Safety; and/or Sustainability, Energy Efficiency, and Decarbonisation.
  • Experience and extensive contacts within Affordable or Social Housing.
  • Strong technical background covering building systems, building regulations, compliance requirements, and/or quantity surveying.
  • Assets experience covering the setting and delivery of investment programmes, managing works, and associated asset management software solutions.
  • Project, Governance, & Risk management experience.
  • Experience in building, leading, motivation, and line managing teams.

Nice to Have

  • A thorough understanding of the issues and opportunities surrounding decarbonisation.
  • An appreciation for Modern Methods of Construction (MMS)
  • A relevant Certification or Degree, such as one covering Social Housing, Property, Safety, Construction, RICS, IOSH, or similar.
  • Office365 application proficiency including MS Project.

As an individual you will be an excellent communicator, adept at liaising and influencing at all levels with a variety of stakeholders.  You will also be highly analytical with a keen eye for detail, you will be able to analysis data to reach clear conclusions and write clear evidence-based reports.  You will also be reliable, forward thinking and strive for excellence.  This role is home based, with a regular presence required in the office and travel to customer sites – therefore a driving license is required for this post and costs will be catered for.   This is an exciting time to join the organisation and an exciting role to grow your own team, department, and cost centre.  Interview slots are available for suitable candidates, so please apply without delay.
