Infrastructure Manager

The purpose of the role is to take accountability for all on-site and cloud IT Infrastructure, continuity and availability of systems, backup, upgrades, and security management.  Ongoing responsibilities will include the management and motivation of a small team of four infrastructure specialists; project managing the delivery of infrastructure projects; ensuring a top-quality support service provision; procurement of equipment, licensing and budget management; technical support and top level escalation; the management of M365 and Azure tenancies; managing network environments and backup routines; managing disaster recovery, cyber security and ongoing testing & audit criteria;  managing storage and server infrastructure as well as ongoing patch management; implementing and embedding ITIL framework principles and configuration best practice; IT asset management; and ongoing documentation libraries.

Must Have

  • A commercial track record in Infrastructure Management, Team Lead or Senior Technical capacity, with experience in line management and the motivation of skilled teams of people.
  • Azure cloud environment
  • Considerable experience in a senior technical role proving third line support on Microsoft Desktop (10, 11) and Server (2019, 2022) technologies in Azure tenancies, Microsoft 365, and hybrid infrastructure architectures.
  • LAN/WAN technology management.
  • Project Management and experience in installing and configuring hardware and software.
  • Solution design and the ability to translate business requirement into technical specifications.
  • ITIL process and practices, with good appreciation of Incident, Problem and Change Management.

  • A high level of current technical certification (Microsoft certs, vendor specific, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar)
